LEADING OAKLAND CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, MUELLER NICHOLLS GOES COMPLETELY SOLAR

Latest move to adopt the same sustainable practices they provide for clients

OAKLAND, Ca—June 2008
Mueller Nicholls, a 28 year old high end cabinet and construction company based in Oakland, California announced today they are converting their cabinet and millwork shop to solar power. The company uses over 10,000 kilowatt hours of electrical power per month. By converting to solar they expect to zero out their electrical utility bill. Two hundred and fifty solar panels are being installed and will be up and running by the end of June.

"For years we've been committed to providing our clients with the highest quality construction work. We’ve always used sustainable materials in our products—certified lumber, no-added formaldehyde board products so this is a natural next step in walking the talk,” said Steve Nicholls, CEO Mueller Nicholls. “We are also excited about the added financial benefit.”

Nicholls has always encouraged and supported the use of alternative energy sources—the company is changing its company vehicles to hybrids, has re-lamped the offices and work areas, and uses natural day lighting instead of electrical power to work by. The 16,000 sq foot shop houses a computer controlled saw, a large point-to-point machine, a state of the art edgebander and numerous heavy duty woodworking machines.
